Despite having to do things a bit differently due to the COVID-19 pandemic, STARS is saying its 2020 home lottery was its most successful one yet. The home lottery, which is the emergency service’s largest fundraiser of the year, sold out two weeks prior to the June 25 Early Bird deadline and raised around $2.75 million. Holiday packages, homes, cash and more are being given away in this year’s STARS Lottery. Tickets are now available online for the 27th annual edition. Glenda Farnden, senior municipal relations liaison with the Grande Prairie base, says this is the organization’s biggest fund-raiser and a sellout would generate around $11-million.

This year’s lottery features STARS’ largest early bird prize package ever, with a truck, trailer, toys and $100,000, all valued at $346,589.
The favorite LUCKY STARS 50/50 is back again, and this year a lucky ticket buyer could win up to $900,000, Saskatchewan’s largest 50/50 payout ever.
Ticket prices start at $60 for the main lottery and $10 for the 50/50 and can be purchased at STARSLotterySaskatchewan.ca or by calling 1-844-STARS SK (782-7775).
Thanks to COVID-19 restrictions, show homes in Pilot Butte and Greenbryre Estates near Saskatoon are not open to the public, currently tickets can only be bought online.

The STARS have aligned for a Regina couple.
Annette and Joe Marche have won $900,000 in the LUCKY STARS 50/50. Marche described the win as a “pinch me” moment they had only imagined the night before it became a reality.
Their win was especially meaningful, as a family member was transported by STARS years ago. Marche said he and his wife say a little prayer every time they hear one of STARS’ red helicopters flying above their Regina home.
